SEED Africa
SEED Hope is kicking off its first regional initiative with an exploratory visit to East Africa in February 2008. Click here for a progress report from Uganda.

We will strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones to catalyze future projects in Africa. Our itinerary includes site visits to schools and orphanages, workshops with educators, visits to communities involved with conservation of natural areas and species such as the severely endangered mountain gorilla, and meetings with nongovernmental organizations.

In addition to broader explorations, we are looking for partners to help pilot a youth entrepreneurship program, artisans or cooperatives to connect with a U.S.-based marketing and sales firm, and prospects for developing an international network of artists.

During visits to clinics, orphanages, and schools, we will be scouting for practical ways to support organizations and communities that are not being well served by local government or international aid efforts. Watch for dispatches during February and March for updates about what you can do to help.

Help connect us — If you have an interest in, or know people or organizations we should be in touch with in Africa or about this kind of work please contact us.
